The restaurant was built in 1974 — a formal reception was held here in connection with the historic Vladivostok Summit of November 23–24, 1974, where US President Gerald Ford and Soviet General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev laid the groundwork for the SALT II strategic arms limitation treaty.
Besides Ford and Brezhnev, North Korean leader Kim Jong-il had breakfast here in 2002. The restaurant has also been visited by Vladivostok Mayor Igor Sergeyevich Pushkaryov and Yefim Zvenyatsky, Artistic Director of the M. Gorky Theatre and People's Artist of the Russian Federation.
Since 1999, the owner has been Arthur Avetikovich Manukyan, who took on the commitment to preserve and build on the restaurant's traditions.
No — in 2012–2015 the building was completely rebuilt: the old logs couldn't withstand Primorye's humid climate. The reconstruction took two years, and in 2015 the renovated complex was visited by the head of Vladivostok.
